WWDX CW 2010 - DL3KWR ROSEL

In contests I have not the chance with my 100 watts and G5RV-dipole (up only 8 m) to win one of the top ten. So are my 512 QSOs (35% DX), 877 QSO-points, 52 CQ zones, 171 DX-multipliers and total 195 571 points a good result. The normal CW speed gos in the last years more and more up, it is now nearly 32 wpm. The challenge, also to come through in such contests, is for me like the best place. See you in the next CW contests.

UFT-YL-CW - DL3KWR ROSEL

This was a small nice contest between the contests of this month : UR-DX, OK-OM, LZ-DX and WWDX-CW. It was also a meeting with a lot of good friends especially 20 YL-QSOs.
My result: 73 QSOs and total 1104 points.

CQ WW SSB 2010 - EA2OSA AMAIA

http://ea2osa.blogspot.com/

On 29/10/2010, a day before the CQ WW DX SSB, the most important amateur competition of the year Amateur Radio Union Estella (Navarra, Spain) has been sabotaged, our antennas and towers have been damaged and demolished.

The one who did or who did it knew what they were doing, in order to make us the most damage to face the competition.

They felt tensioner, turrets and antenas.Los damage occurred were designed, not only because they cut the turnbuckles but spreaders of the towers weakened causing his fall and broken antennas.

It has been a corresponding complaint with the competent authority (Spanish police).

This is a fact that attacks an association of radio amateurs who spent 25 years working and stressing in practice of amateur radio to promote it wherever they went.

One example is the continued presence over the past 14 years in major amateur competitions nationally and internationally.

The Romaleta has always been open to anyone who is interested and will continue.

We have made economic damage but thanks to the efforts of the partners have once again been in the air as AO2W.

Our morale is stronger than ever and continue to do radio as we always have. Proof of this are the 768 contacts that we have, and we will do in the future.

We want everyone to know, because if there is something sacred to a ham radio antenna is its.

You can see more photos of sabotage : http://unionderadioaficionadosdeestella.blogspot.com/2010/11/comunicado-de-la-urde-sobre-los-hechos.html

DXCC SCORE - YLOTA MEMBER : SV2KBS VICTORIA

DXCC worked : 244
DXCC confirmed : should be something around 120, with all the cards spread in several carton boxes with shoes and clothes :-)  I've lost interest in chasing DXCCs, for the moment other aspects in Ham Radio attract me, however I believe that I will return to active DXing sometime in the future.
Contest of preference : Any contest is good :-) The major ones are more fun for me, CQWW, CQWPX whilst Field Days is an absolute must for me with the SX7W gang. I also always try to support and be part of YL Contests. Operational modes CW/SSB but no digi.

SYLRA AND CQ WW SSB 2010 - VK4GH CATHERINE

Thanks to the SYLRA & CQWW Contests countries worked is now 159, but confirmed only 110, and all SSB ( I am slowly learning CW through www.lcwo.net ).
During the SYLRA Contest I had good pile ups on 20 & 40 with Europe (only 7 of my 118 QSO's were with Oceania), and I was very pleased to work 6 YL's. Total points 15184.
The CQWW Contest gives an opportunity to make contact with new countries, so my object was to reach as many zones as I could, as well as some new countries. 29 zones overall on 10,15,20 & 40m and 6 new countries, but only 122 QSO's.
As the contest finishes here at 10am Monday morning, I thought I'd "spin the dial" while eating my breakfast and heading off to work, and so my very last contact was with 5N7M Nigeria for a new country and a new zone !
As you can tell, I enjoy contesting, and I have entered all the VK/ZL contests seriously, and won some of them. I have been the winner of the ALARA Contest for about the last 3 years.
My OM John VK4IO and I went on our first dxpedition to VK9LA last year, where we met Victoria, and we would love to go on some more in the future...
